WAIT POOL

If our classrooms are fully enrolled, we will place your child’s application in our Wait Pool. Our wait pool contains applications for admission from mission-appropriate families seeking enrollment at White Bear Montessori School. Note that it is Wait Pool, not a Wait List, and not necessarily on a first-come, first-served basis. If an opening becomes available, we will enroll new children from our Wait Pool. We make every effort to balance our classrooms according to the Montessori method — by age and gender — as we seek to evaluate the best fit for each classroom community. The following will be considered when reviewing applications in the wait pool:

  • Does the child have any previous experience at a Montessori school and/or a previous experience at WBMS?

  • Does the family understand and believe in the Montessori Method of education?

  • What schedule is the family requesting for their child?

  • Does the child have any current siblings at WBMS?

  • Is the family a WBMS alumni family?

  • Is either parent of the child an employee at WBMS?

To be placed in our Wait Pool, families should submit an Application for Admission and a $50 non-refundable Application Fee. To request a link to the online Application for Admission please contact our Assistant Head of School.

If you have any questions or would like to have an update on your standing in the Wait Pool, please contact our Assistant Head of School. 

If an opening becomes available mid-academic year, families in our Wait Pool will be contacted. We may ask you to come for a second visit with your child as we seek to determine the best fit for our vacancy.

Once accepted, you will be offered an Enrollment Contract and a proposed start date. Upon receiving a signed Enrollment Contract and Enrollment Fee, your child’s place will be held and the first day of school will be confirmed. At that time all registration materials and welcome information will be provided to the family.

If your child ages out of our Toddler Program, we will automatically move them to the wait pool for Children’s House.

WBMS opens re-enrollment to current families in January. Any available spaces remaining will then be offered to individual wait pool families prior to opening them to the public. Wait pool families will be contacted in mid-February. You can reach us at any time via email at admissions@wbms.org

Toddler Community (16 - 35 months) 

Toddler Community openings may become available during the school year, as children transition into the Children’s House once developmentally ready, between the ages of 33 - 35 months. Families interested in our Toddler Community are encouraged to apply as early as possible, as preference will be given to children under 24 months of age. We also prioritize enrollment for siblings of children currently attending White Bear Montessori School.

Children’s House (33 months - 6 years)

It is preferred that Children’s House students enroll and begin school at the start of a new school year each September, however, unexpected openings may become available during the school year. Families in our Toddler Community Wait Pool are encouraged to stay in touch with the Assistant Head of School regarding possible admission to the Children's House program.
