our history

White Bear Montessori School was founded in 1970 by parents who were concerned about providing their children with a quality early childhood educational experience. We began with one classroom, utilizing a curriculum designed by Dr. Maria Montessori in the early 1900s. Using her Montessori Method our reputation for excellence led to an increasing demand for more space, so in 1998 our current facility was built.

In our ongoing pursuit of becoming our best, White Bear Montessori School became officially AMI-recognized on a national level in 1999. We are proud to have adopted the AMI professional, ethical, and educational standards set forth for our staff. Providing the highest quality Montessori education to our community remains our mission year after year.

Since our beginning, more than 3000 children have passed through our doors. Some of them are bestowing the Montessori education to their children, returning as parents of currently enrolled children, and others returning as staff.
