White Bear Montessori has a rich history of educating children. It was founded in 1970 by parents concerned about a quality early childhood educational experience and has become a place where learning and nurturing are blended to assist children in realizing their full potential. By utilizing a curriculum designed by Maria Montessori in the early 1900s, children develop a love of learning that they carry with them throughout their lives. Since its beginning, more than 2500 children have passed through the doors, some returning as parents and/or staff.
White Bear Montessori began with one classroom. Its reputation for excellence led to an increasing demand for more space. In 1998, the current facility was built. As a necessary complement to our physical and financial growth came the obvious need for professional growth as well. As a result, in 1999, White Bear Montessori became officially AMI-recognized on a national level and adopted professional, ethical, and educational standards for our staff, ensuring the highest quality for Montessori education.
