Electives
A variety of before- or after-school programs are offered as electives for the Extended Day and Elementary children. The various electives are held for a specific number of sessions and are billed separately. Elective offerings change frequently, and not all electives are offered every year. Examples of electives offered in the past include but are not limited to the following.
Art
A local artist and freelance art teacher, Cassandra Monson from the White Bear Center for the Fine Arts, teaches students to invest in themselves. She teaches all art forms from painting to papermaking and sculpture to bookmaking.

Chess Club
A group of children meet with a facilitator to enjoy the game of chess. The children expand their knowledge of the game and challenge one another.
Garden Club
The garden club children join together and plan a vegetable, flower, or salsa garden. Plus learn about the plants and gardens we already have established here at WBMS.
Mad Science
WBMS and an instructor from Mad Science of Minnesota team up for interactive and hands-on activities to get children excited about science.

Soccer
Our soccer program is a very informal get-together that offers a couple of fun, high energy hours of working on soccer drills, pick-up games, and time in the sun.

Ski Club
Our ski club program gets together at neighboring cross country ski trails in the northeast metro one day per week during the winter months.
Destination ImagiNation
Destination ImagiNation is a community-based, school-friendly program that builds creativity, problem solving, and teamwork. Children apply their skills to solve challenges, working together cooperatively and pushing the limits of imagination to best not their competition, but themselves.
